We are sure most of you have heard or read about the recent call for categorizing all alcohol as causing cancer. Most of this is based on cherry-picked research studies and does nothing to address the fact that wine can be good for you in moderation (one glass daily for women, two for men). There is much research that supports this.
Try reading this book, “The Very Good News About Wine,” by Tony Edwards, available at Amazon or other booksellers. It is authoritative health evidence that the health authorities don’t tell you. Drawing on the findings of over three hundred medical studies, “The Very Good News About Wine” lays out the evidence for wine and health in a readable and understandable way, with some very surprising conclusions.
Another excellent and much shorter read is this recent blog, “The Wine Gourd,” written by David Morrison, titled “Current Medical Evidence Says that Wine is not Harmful in Small Doses.”
Much of the time, when alcohol is referred to as unhealthy, it has to do with overindulging in wine, beer, or spirits. Does wine cause cancer? It can, but it can also help; it is just a matter of degrees, or rather, glasses.
*The Alcohol Tobacco Tax and Trace Bureau would like us to let you know that consuming wine may lead to pleasure, illness, or death. Like most things that are good.
