Here is what we at Paradisos del Sol Winery and Organic Vineyard will be doing for this event:
| Hours: Sat & Sun 11 am to 6 pm Description We are a tiny estate winery dedicated to producing ingredient-labeled wines from grapes grown without any sort of pesticide. Water can be a pesticide; we only water the soil. Yes indeed, following EPA rules! We have not produced a wine grown with pesticides or chemical fertilizers for over a decade. We believe we are the only wine estate on Earth that can make that statement. Other wineries have produced Zero-Pesticide wines (they bought grapes from us). We are certified Organic by WSDA and Real Organic. We are slow winegrowers. We take time to evolve the wines before bottling. After bottling, wines spend 1-5 years developing in the bottle in cool, dark rooms to become worthy of our table. We don’t sell wine we would not serve to the most illustrious guest. As Americans with ancestors from multiple countries, we think blending wine and food (the same in our minds) produces the most beautiful results. We grow 15 varieties of grapes with the intent to produce 5 wines that are blends of multiple varieties. Of course, plans and reality are different. Currently, we have 10 wines in the tasting room! Since we believe wine is part of a meal, that wine tasting is speed dating, seeking a dinner companion, our tastings include a tiny bite with each wine. The Under-40-Calorie Winemakers Dinner. For this Taste Rattlesnake Hills event, we are expanding our Micromeal for ticket holders with three new, larger bites for three of our wines. The other five wines will have our usual bites. The new, larger bites will represent Indigenous Americans, Immigrant Thai, and Immigrant Europeans, three continents. The wines will include fifteen varieties grown in over 30 countries. Earth’s only wine estate producing ingredient-labeled wine from Vitis vinifera grapes grown without any sort of pesticide. Offerings * Tom Kha Gai, a classic soup of Thailand, from Papanana Thai Kitchen, which is very scrumptious paired with our Sève made entirely from our Zero Pesticide, Organic Chenin Blanc grapes. * Birria, from La Placita, on a fresh-made tortilla (corn, of course!) cooked when you arrive, which we love paired with our Rojo Paradiso. Our Rojo is based on Sangiovese but has seven grapes in the blend. All Zero Pesticide and Organic. Birria also has many ingredients, chilis and chivo being the foundation. * The Garden Special – We don’t know what this will be! With over 100 cultivars in our organic kitchen garden, it’s hard to predict what will be prime weeks in advance. It will be harvested on the day. What wine? That depends on the garden! Salad? Steamed? Most likely Zillah Zillah sweet onions and/or basil will be involved, or maybe tarragon, which would mean our Oyster White, or . . . Entertainment/Special Offers All of our wines are on sale for half price by the case, except for our Angelica MRS (20% off) and PMS. |
